King of Nepal Turns to Internet Gambling

King Gyanendra is battling depression over losing his hereditary crown and has turned to Internet gambling to get his mind off of politics.

King Gyanendra handed over power to a multi-party government. He is currently suffering from depression and high blood pressure and is also said to be suffering from insomnia which keeps him awake late at night.

During his sleepless nights he is now trying his luck at poker and blackjack over the Internet. The King is said to be using his international credit cards.

There are about 900 employees in the royal household who are required to remain on hand when the King is awake at night. These late night gambling forays by the King are significantly increasing the staf costs of the household as employees must remain on hand to provide the King water and coffee if needed.

King Gyanendra has allegedly taken bad advice in authorizing enterprises during his 15-month direct rule as King. He shut down a state-owned telecom company to help his son-in-law's private telephone firm turn a quick profit.

The country is threatening to abolish the monarchy by having an election in the months to come. This will result in King Gyanendra loing his privileges to Parliament and losing his royal status as king.

The era of King Gyanendra cane to a crashing halt after a nationwide revolt following public revelation of some of his poor policy decisions.
